Who are yours?

Why?

What do you value most (or what do you seek) in a hero or mentor? (question more applicable for those who currently don't or can't think of one. But not limited to them.)

Well, I guess I should bravely go first, maybe get the ball rolling.

I don't know that I have any "hero", no one has come to rescue me, and I tend to think of heroes in a Superman kind of way, even though there's probably more to it than that. Firefighters I often look upon as heroes.

I've had amazing mentors in my life. People I admire, look up to, who have guided me, and have qualities I want to emulate.

Mine are my Mom and Nana. They are beautiful women, and not just physically. They're rather average looking if you don't know them, but get to know them and all I see is beauty.

My Mom taught me to stick up for what I believe in, and do it passionately.
My Nana taught me to be generous.

Those are just the first thoughts that come to mind.

Who are yours?

I have had a few well 4 teachers to be exact that I can think of that have left a lasting impression on me.

My 4th grade teacher
My HS golf coach/spec ed teacher
Two college instructors

Each one showed me to find the best in myself. Always there with an encouraing word. They all understood my childhood and difficulties with school. The fact that I still keep in touch with all of these people, esspecailly my 4th grade teacher. I was in 4th grade something like 13 or 14 years ago.

Words can't describe the impact these people have had on me.

My Mentors and Heros are: My mother: She's Always been there for me and has helped me in ways only a loving committed mother can. Even with all the problems I have with my AD{H}D, Dyscalculia, and Sensory Intergration Disorder she has staunchly encouraged and has recently helped me to realize that having problems like the aforementioned does not mean I'm dumb as I used to believe. Thanks Momma!
My Maternal Grandmother who taught me more than words can express Sigh! I sure miss her even after 28 years. My sister for loving and putting up with me like she does and her endless generosity. My Best friend who has been there when I needed someone and gave generously and cheerfully of her time and makes me laugh with her zaniness. and of course my nieces and nephews, my friends kids whom I love with the intensity of a childless aunt who has the heart and soul of a mother; and of course folks on this forum with their positive feedback and help when it's needed. Ya'll are Wondeful...! :D

Sorry this post was so long but....obviously I am truly blessed with Heros and Mentors and maybe a few guardian Angels as well.

That's me, Odd-Scrooball :) :D ;) [SIZE=5][COLOR=Sienna]
