can someone give me an accurate representation of their experiences when off strattera? right now i'm feeling VERY ADHD and very uninhibited. i've tried to go off strattera before, but when I do this side-effect does not seem to go away. ever. the longest i've been off was roughly 4-5 weeks. this drug seems to have a devilish grip with me.

I stopped taking it suddenly 2 days ago (was taking 2 pills per day) because I couldn't stand the effects any more... I don't feel many side effects, just "back to normal"... maybe a little confused about some things, that's all.

I was on 120mg strattera for one month after an increase from 80mg. I was beginning to think that it wasn't working for me anymore. My memory was getting poorer it seemed. I actually bought one of those weekly pill planner boxes it was getting so bad. Finally on a friday I did forget my dose and went to work...I felt panicky for the first part of the day. Then I thought, ok, I'll just go off the med until my appt with the doc on Mon. Talk about zapping!!! If anyone has forgotten their dose of prozac they know what I'm referring to, if not, zapping is like a soft electrical impulse through the head or body. With strattera its mostly a body zap. And highly uncomfortable. I zapped for 3 days. Doc put me back on strattera, at half of the current dose. For me, to go off for a few days and get back on a lower dose has made a big difference.

I stopped taking it over Xmas to give my body a chance to 'reset'. I had some pretty mean headaches for a week going cold turkey from 80 daily. Other than that, I didnt notice much of a difference. But my wife said she did notice a difference and I needed to get back on the meds asap. So here I am taking it again.

If I don't take it the next day within an hour or so from the last time I took it, my body lets me know by making me feel REALLY sick...not nauseous, but just an overall feeling of malais that's so bad that sometimes I try to just go back to sleep. I'm on 80mg and I take it when I wake up. There's nothing like feeling like utter crap when you wake up to motivate you to take your pill!

One day I didn't have my pills w/me (slept over someone's house) and I went the whole day feeling like crap. At the end of the day, I realized my clumsiness returned in full force, though I didn't notice it throughout the day because I was busy trying to concentrate.

So yeah, it makes me feel crappy, and I revert to being clumsy and unfocused.

...I don't know, I'm actually thinking of going off this medication because while it helps me a little, it's starting to feel like it's not enough to justify the physically "illness" I experience. Plus I think it's messing w/ my mood, so we'll see....
