Since Concerta is a timed released medication, what is the best way to take 72 mg's a day? Two 36mg's in the morning or one in the am and then another in the pm?

I would talk to your doctor. What does the prescription bottle say?

Usually the intended use is to take both 36's at once. If a 36 gives you good coverage but wears out too fast then try spreading it out a bit. As with the previous post ask your doctor for the best advice.

My doctor originally prescribed one 36mg a day but that wasn't helping. I called his office yesterday and the nurse said to try taking 72mg but she failed (or I didn't hear her) to say whether to take both at once or spread them out.

That's a big jump 36-->72, what about 54mg. Anyway, I would try both in the a.m and see how it goes. Like I said, check with your doctor.
