View Full Version : Generic Adderall Ranbaxy? KFabulous 01-12-07, 01:02 AM Has anyone ever used this type of generic? How did you like it compared to other brands? Which Generic brand do you feel is the best and why? Thanks!:) focusedfidgeter 01-13-07, 11:59 AM I love it! I used mail order refill service for the first time and received this brand! Previously I used the Barr brand. Ranbaxy (30mg) pills work faster and longer for me. I'm more focused and not as nervous. I plan to continue to use them. Nova 01-13-07, 06:37 PM I get the Adderall generic Ranbaxy brand, also. KFabulous 01-14-07, 01:09 AM sweet! Yeah I really like it too. It is pretty close to brand. :) Thanks! Bipolarruledout 01-15-07, 06:11 AM Mail order? Do tell.... I didn't think you could do with the CII meds! Reguardless barr has the reputation for being horrible and to me feels very differant than brand. Any other brands are better than barr! I liked Eon, I have not used the highly recomended mallinkdrot. LittlePrincess 01-16-07, 01:44 AM I currently take 30mg Adderall XR.... but when I used to take Adderall IR, I tried both the brand name (Shire) and the generic Ranbaxy. I couldn't tell a difference between the two. I also used mail order. :) KFabulous 01-16-07, 09:58 PM Yeah I really like it I don't feel like it wears off as fast. Happy Dance :) focusedfidgeter 01-17-07, 02:43 AM Bipolarruledout, If your medical insurance offers mail order prescription services, you can obtain a 90-Day supply of Adderall IR or XR. I received both with my order. My doctor always suggested that I utilize this service to avoid the once per month visit. I finally decided to do it - I guess I just liked leaving work to go to the doctor. :D Any Excuse Will Do! Bipolarruledout 01-17-07, 06:04 PM And they mail it right to you? Well as soon as my insurance kicks in I may have to try that as they do have mail order perscriptions for cheap. I guess I'm just surprised to hear they they will mail 90 days worth or CII meds concidering they just about strung me up when I tried to fill a script early last time. It sucks... I run out and have to wait a week for a new script becuase I didn't call it in early and then the next month when I try to get it taken care of and out of the way they won't fill it. Yes, I did have some left but its a pain in the a*s to pick up a paper script and wait for it to be filled.... I just wanted to get it over and done with. Thankfully I don't take all my doses and end up with some leftover at the end of the month. And they do to ADD people none the less. lunarfrog 01-19-07, 10:51 PM How can you get the Ranbaxy generic? I tried to google for it (ie walgreens etc.) and couldn't find anything. I'm currently taking barr. Thanks, Lunar... steviefranchise 01-28-07, 11:36 AM Bump. I just started taking Barr for my afternoon doses. Anyone else have comparisons of Barr vs others? Thanks in advance for your replies. Bipolarruledout 02-09-07, 01:57 AM Barr.... *for me* is less "in your face", you could call it smoother but it just brings me down and doesn't work as well as others. On the other hand the come down is more mild if you don't count the extreme tiredness. Less cartiovascular effects. Overall I don't like it much... can't exactly say why... just never seems to really "kick in." I called all over town yesterday in fact looking for a differant brand at a decent price. I believe Safeway was stocking Ranbaxy and they wanted like $120.00 (10mg #90). So no dice. The *only* other brand I have used besides the "real" stuff is Eon labs (now known as sandoz). It's most like the brand; perhaps a bit more "speedy" and/or stronger but *for me* it's sooo much better than barr. At least tonight the come down was quite mild, almost none. Brand used to make my heart RACE coming down, I didn't get that tonight. I am however using DL-phenalanine twice per day and I recomend it for various reasons. So anyway I found *one* phamacy (the last place I called) who had sandoz (eon) for only around $30.00 and was VERY HAPPY. Now I should mention that some people will discribe just the oposite on both these brands but in general the barr does not come very recomended but I can see how it may be a better option for some people. It seems to work better for those on high doses. I will also say I have inattentive ADD without hyperactity but hyperfocus on selective tasks. My ADD is mild for the most part except for my EXTREME messyness and TOTAL disorganization witch is not helped much with the meds.... really it's BAD... other than that I'm very functional. I'm also taking pretty low doses at around 25-30mg (IR) per day in mostly devided doses. Sometimes more, sometimes less just depending. I'm scripted 90 a month and ususaly don't use it all but I often wonder if I just need to take more but I get agitated on more than 15mg at one time but perhaps it's just in my head. (no pun intended). I think I might be able to tolerate higher doses of the barr but whats the point if it doesn't work as well? I know this is kind of "run on" but hopefully it helps. I have not used any other brands but certainly would like to if I can find them at a decent price. My insurance kicks in in a couple of months. I might just switch to brand at that time, maybe XR during the day depending on the price and what my insurance covers. Some poeple LIKE some of the generics even MORE than brand so go figure. |
