View Full Version : Long term Adderall stories?

I've been searching the forums for stories from people who have been on Adderall for longer than a year, and while I've found a few here and there, what I've seen more of is other people asking for the same kinds of stories.

I think that those of us who have only been on Adderall for a few months or less (going on six months for me) are all wondering the same thing: Even though this seems to be working for me now, is it going to stop working sometime down the line? And if that happens, is it going to be torture to stop?

I know I'm a newb on the forums so I did my best not to replicate an already existant thread, but if such a thread does exist, feel free to say nasty, terrible things about me; I can take it.

If it stops working down the line then the only explanation that I can think of would be that you're attitude has changed and aren't putting forth the same effort on the drug as before.

I've been on this medication about 13 years. Be advised that the longer you're on the medication, the harder it will be to go off of it. I tried cutting back about 5 years ago and I felt like blah. If you go off the drug, then your performance in some activities may fall below what it was previously before you started taking it (maybe only because of the fatigue that you need to overcome).

While 30mg a day has been good for me for going on four months now, I'm worried that eventually my body will adjust and I'll need progressively more and more to get any effect.

I've been on it for 13 years and I've only had like a 5mg increase.
