Is 10mg 2X of regular release adderall daily considered a low or moderate dosage?

Also, I know drinking a large amount of coffee can increase your risk for seizure, but what about alcohol. Is there an official word? I have had adderall and lots to drink before without issue...

Also, anybody else paranoid of taking it in general (not experiencing paranoia while on it).

10mg 2x/day is pretty much equivalent to a 20mg XR capsule. It's about as average a dose as they come from what I've seen.

Alcohol and amphetamines both dehydrate your body and can leave you with a hell of a hangover if not used responsibly. I wouldn't encourage this combination, but a couple beers and your low dose of IR shouldn't be a problem. Combining drugs that both affect the nervous system, especially one in the form of a depressant and the other a stimulant is never good for your heart. They don't put warnings on medications for no reason!

As for being paranoid of actually taking Adderall, no, I love it and it's getting me through college with flying colors!

Yeah, I agree. Thanks for your post. I've been on auto-pilot I'm afraid. I never take more than prescribed, but sometimes I'll wait to take my second dose until late evening (if it's been a long day and want to go out and not feel tired) -- and then drink. I know for my safety this behavior should change...considering red bull & vodka is one of my favorite drinks :eek:.

If I do go out and drink a lot, would you suggest not taking adderall at all that day, or just skip the afternoon dose?

Also, am I the only one who has enjoyed coffee and red bull while on the medicaiton? As I said before, I haven't experience complication and by no means is this a habit -- but I believe these combinations should be avoided now and just want to get some feedback.

I have similar questions when it comes to drinking on Adderall, but I would say drinking redbull and Coffee with Adderall could potentially be dangerous. They are all stimulants so it could cause arythmia or other heart complications. I would just be carefull mixing the three.

Just to clarify, I never combine the three...

Just Adderall & a couple smallish cups of coffee in the morning, then sometimes (not that often) Adderall and Red Bull and other alcohols when out and with friends...though I'm sure the combo of just the two should be curbed. I will probably cut that out completely, or just take dose in the morning if I want to drink that night.

I *think* coffee & red bull and coffee are about the same as far as what it does to you?
