i bought a home blood pressure monitor (device), so i can actively check my blood pressure.. because you see, im like one step away from being diagnosed. It's only a matter of time. We are now at the point where it's undisputable i have add, i just am waiting for that magical report stating i have ADD (psychologist)

Anyway, In the mean time, I bought a home blood pressure kit.. I've never really cared about my BP.. But that's mostly because I'm only 22 so I just have held onto the whole 'i'm young, i'm fine' thing, which I am for the most part, except for this ADD.

But I bought it because I want to try to eliminate any additional delays these doctors are going to try to throw at me. They might say "Node, we'd love to start you on (ADD DRUG), but your blood pressure is a little bit too high. Get it under control, come back, then we can get you going on the drug"

So I want to be able to eliminate that by making sure my BP is under control. When I bought, after a 2 hour bike ride (i was exhausted), I tried it when I got home.. it said 141/90. Then 20 minutes later it said 131/86. Then like several hours later it would say like 129/80something

Now today, the next day, I woke up at 10:20AM, took a shower, have just been sitting in my chair drying off, calmly. so i decided to take my blood pressure again. It's now 113/81!!!!!!!!! Which is great. I read normal is like 120/80 or a little bit below etc

So i'm glad that if in the event I have to get my BP checked before put on add medication, my BP is going to be satisfactory. They won't be able to say my blood pressure is too high. So that's taken care of now, i'm going to actively monitor it everyday.

I need to know what else should I add to my check list? Does cholesterol have anything to do with the ADD drugs? Is it any kind of concern? I'm 22, I'm about 5'8, I weigh like 175lbs, so I could lose 10-15 lbs probably. But I don't think cholesterol has much to do with add drugs. I don't think my cholesterol is that high, I don't know what it is, but I don't constantly eat mcdonalds or something. I have been eating decent.

I know niacin lowers cholesterol so i'm going to start taking niacin (vitamin b3) 1000mg a day just for the hell of it, even if cholesterol isn't a factor with add medication

so i have

- blood pressure
- cholesterol (maybe??)
- I exercise daily

What else could they possibly say to me, to make me go through more bull****, and a longer wait to get these drugs? Because that's what it's ultimately about. To me treatment does not mean no drugs. IT means drugs. There's no STRATEGY for me. There's no 'behavior modification' or whatever bull**** I read about. The only solution for me is a drug at this point. I've already spent years trying everything but drugs. Nothing works. I'm ready for the drug. I just want to ENSURE they have NO CHOICE but to give me what I WANT, which is the drug. I have never tried these drugs. I'm a healthy person, I have not had any issues. No diabetes, no health problems, never broke a bone, or anything.

I just don't want them to give me more of a hard time than they already are.. by making me go through os much waiting and loops

so BP is covered, is there anything else I need to consier

I'm just trying to be one step ahead, prepared

preparation is the key... and dude you are prepared!!

plenty of water and no sugary/caffien products for 2 or more days before the blood pressure test , will give you an accurate result...

Also how are you being diagnosed??? with a brainscan, or just by a psychiatrist??
