You could also go to an Internet forum to read about the daily experiences of people with ADD. (http://www.addforums.com)

If you hang around these forums and go, "that's so me" to a lot of the threads.. chances are you're in the right forum.

My mother gave me a book titled ADD in adults which I did not have the attention span to read beyond page three until a neuropsychtrist gave me some medications for ADHD and I could read past page three. Once I could sit down for longer than three minutes I found I could read the entire book in an afternoon. After the expereience and reading the book I figured my mom and the doctor were probably right I am ADHD.
