ADHD term for that is hyperfocus. It is very common, and can be quite fun, but everything else can fall apart while you focus on that one thing.

I personally have a seasonal aspect to my depression. I grew up on a farm and I love gardening and anything involved in digging in dirt. In the spring I can spend days on end planting, moving, weeding, planning new flower beds, shoppin for plants and shrubs, pruning, ad infinitum. Meanwhile there is no housecleaning, grocery shopping, laundry washing, bill paying, tax filing, or meal cooking etc. But I am the happiest I can be when working in the yard in the spring.

I have also discovered "bomb proof" perenials this way, because after they are planted and hyperfocus leaves those plants are on their own!

Everybody around me suffers when I hyperfocus. :( I get extremely irritable.

But I'm always amazed by how much and what I can get done when hyperfocusing

i was under the impression that if you take adderall and get tunnel focus then you dont have add? Isnt that why college students take it? Ive taken a max of 60mg xr one day and 40mg IR some other day and i still felt mentally normal...
