i was initally prescribed 3 x 20 mg IR - which seemed really high - this is 12 days ago. sorry for the initial freaked-out postings. i cut down to 2 x 20 and felt dopey and got sick over the weekend. am better and have scaled this back to cutting a 20-mg IR in half. i sleep fine but i can't wake up and function without it. is this normal at this stage?

some ppl seem to develop a tolerance after 2 days! (very rare tough)
honestly i dont know the answer, but i do know that DXM supplementation (60mg) stops tolerance (not reversing it i beleive)

however, DXM might be neurotoxic in low doses, i am not sure, it is in recreational doses tough
another NMDA antagonist might be better, but they are expensive...

dextromethorphan, in cough syrop, often used as a recreational drug, but pretty toxic in these doses
for NMDA antagonist you will need a MUCH lower dose, but i dont know if its still toxic tough

It has been recommened by my doctor to try using the cough pill DexAlone. It contains 30mg of DXM as its only active ingredient, and he said that 2 pills 3-4 days a week should be very helpful in preventing ongoing tolerance developement.

So i highly doubt it would be recommened from a doctor if it was toxic (at these very LOW doses).

Just thought Id share.
