Hello,
I am a 20 year old college student who takes 2 20mg pills of adderall XR every morning (It is prescribed and I am in constant contact with the doctor.lol). I found this site because I was looking for info on certain experiences I have with the adderall. Such as.. shaking in my hands that is not noticible to people around me but if I try to hold a peice of paper in the air it is pretty obvious. Also, hand numbness when writing for long periods of time (30 to 50 min) and numbness when I wake up at night in either hand. Stomach pain and gas problems. Moods swings (which i have pretty mapped out as far as time after taking the meds) Also... if I eat any food right before or after taking the adderall it doesn't really work. I had blood tests done for diabetes and whatnot and they were fine. I was just wondering if anyone else has these experiences with the drug, cause i am paranoid and am begining to think I have parkinstins or something.

P.S. I am late for class so if there are a ton of spelling errors i apologize, i am in all honesty horrible at typing.

Funny about the food effect...I just posted something about that too. I just started taking 20 mg Adderall XR and when I take it on an empty stomach, about a half hour later, I'm charged...the buzz wears off after about and hour or so but I've got a nice smooth feeling for at least 6 hours.

But today, I couldn't take it until 10:00 AM and about two hours earlier, I had some breakfast. I definatlely think food slows its absorption. I feel its effects but it's not as pronounced.

is this an online doctor who prescribes? i would like one.
how long have you been on it and what dose did you start with?
do you have large pupil dialation?
shakiness can all be produced by excess dopamine, norepenephrine, and seratonin
since adderall is a racemixture of various d and l forms of amphetamine they primarily act on dopamine and norepinephrine with greatest effect on norepinephrine this is probable cause of your shakiness (especially if you use any cafiene) . you could probably use lower dose many people have good effect from 5 - 10 mg of adderall. but your not going to get much seratonin action to help your mood and focus like an ssri or a doul reuptake inhibitor.

If you ingest Adderall with citric acid the citric acid decreases the effectiveness of the medications. Any thing that increase acidity in the stomach decreases the effectiveness of Adderall. The hand tremors may or may not be due to the Adderall, because it can be a sign of other problems; therefore it is worthy of checking our with your doctor.

Honestly, most of those symptoms sound like too high of a dosage.

I had problems with numbness in my appendages which subsided after my body adjusted to the medication (only 10mg 2x/day.)

Yeah, I've been taking adderall for about a year and reading about it at pretty much every opportunity, and you sound like a classic example of someone on too high a dosage. What about taking 20 in the morning and 20 4-5 hours later? Have you tried this? If 20 is enough to get you focused, that would be a much better routine in my opinion.
