Since invega is a modified extended release risperdal form, maybe they will soon approve it for Asperger's disorder. Since risperdal is used for bipolar and schizophrenia, maybe we will one day have a new treatment (whether on or off label) for asperger's disorder. Also, I have gotten use to taking the risperdal, I'm wondering if I should give invega a try...

I'm looking at the prescribing information and the lowest dose I see is 3mg. In my head I'm thinking since the drug is normally taken 2x a day that's 1.5mg 2x a day. does anybody know if that means that the lowest dose possible? I don't need 1.5mg 2x a day but if it's 1mg total I could deal with that...

I went to the doctors yesterday and decided not to try invega since the risperdal is working. Since Invega is extended release risperdal, if your child is currently taking risperdal for than 1x a day ask the doctor about invega instead. The generic form is paliperidone. More info on it can be found at this webiste:
