Hi there!
I'm wondering if someone could tell me what exactly is the difference between Adderall and Dexedrine.
Is the only difference the fact that Adderall has some extra salts in it to help make the rebound less difficult, but the actual active ingredient is the same?
Does anyone know what the dosing equivalents are for Adderall and Dexedrine?
Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks! :)

Anybody have any thoughts either way? Other than convience, do you think one drug is better than the other?
We all tend to respond differently to these drugs. That being said, I will tell you how they are tend differ from one another with most people.
Adderall is a combination of the amphetamine molecule (both right and left isomers) along with some amphetamine salts.
Dexedrine is simply the right isomer of the amphetamine molecule, or the right half of the amphetamine molecule. The two sides of this molecule act differently from each other. For instance, the right isomer (dextroamphetamine) offers more CNS (central nervous system) stimulation, compared to the left isomer (levoamphetamine) which offers more PNS (peripheral nervous system) stimulation.
By providing more CNS stimulation, dextroamphetamine tends to effect attention, alertness, euphoria, etc. Compared to levoamphetamine which can provide more PNS stimulation like heart beat irregularities, increased blood pressure, etc. Granted, we all respond differently, and some people simply do not fit the mold per se concering how these drugs work.
For instance, Dexedrine provides me with plenty of CNS stimulation and all the alertness I need, however Adderall makes me sleepy, literally. I have no idea why this is, but it gets back to what I was saying about these drugs not working the same for everyone. Most people do not get sleepy when they take Adderall. That being said, I prefer Dexedrine very much over Adderall.
As a result of its pronounced CNS stimulation, Dexedrine if considered to be more potent than Adderall. Unfortunately the pronounced CNS stimulation of dextroamphetamine also tends to make it more recreational among people who are not taking it for legitimate medical reasons, like people who use it as a performance enhancing drug like US military pilots flying 18 hour combat sortes, NASA astronauts, NFL players, etc. who tend to use it in this respect.
Sorry if I went off topic here concerning Dexedrines alternative role in our culture, but I answer this question about Adderall vs Dexedrine fairly often around here, and I guess I was trying not to sound repeptitive. :o
