View Full Version : Any Tests Yet? netsavy006 02-06-07, 01:18 PM I got my first one this wednesday in Psychology Statistics (PSY 213). Best of luck to everyone... Andy... CrAcKerKoReaN 02-06-07, 05:40 PM I just got done taking a Calc Based physics and a Calc III test. I bombed the Physics test (31) but some class mates did not fare to well either (40)(61). Just took my calc test last night and I am not sure how I did. My biggest problem is retention. I can take notes all day but never remember what I write. Good Luck on the test. I am sure you can do better than I did. lars 02-06-07, 06:00 PM I had a Calc test last Friday that was my first test. I got a 75%, which is ok for now since I know I can bring up my grade in there before the semester end. I hope anyway. Yesterday I had my first test in Chem, and my first test in my Psych class which is Lifespan & Human Development. I got a 94% on the psych test, and I suspect I likely scored in the mid 80's on the chem test. I will know for sure tomorrow about the chem. Good luck tomorrow Andy! ADizzyGirl 02-07-07, 12:18 AM First one today in Cell & Cancer Bio.. out of 100 multiple choice questions, I was *maybe* a little unsure about 2 of them and finished in a little over 20 minutes. I love being able to finish the reading assignments and actually understand what I've read.. First Neuroscience quiz tomorrow night, hopefully that will go just as well. MeGgHeAd 02-07-07, 03:37 AM I wrote an Organic Chemistry test last Friday. ~Mechanisms in Organic Synthesis~ and it didn't go so well. I'm pretty sure I failed it. About half way through my mind went blank and I forgot everything (this is a regular occurance in exams for me), even though I knew all of those reactions, and then panic-mode when I knew I wasn't going to be able to retrieve the right stuff and get it onto the paper. I didn't even read some of the instructions! On the up side though.... this test came along during the week of my diagnosis.. and up until the week of the test, I was still struggling with getting the homework problems done, reviewing the notes etc. I spent a good part of today filling in the gaps and working on improving the stuff I was weak on.. and I'm getting alot more confident with it. So, it can only get better from here....If I can have one more strong midterm (there's 2), and a strong final, I still have a chance at a good grade. Also, I have a file started now with the "disability resoruces" people to write in a quiet room without distractions, as well as be granted time and a half, if needed. I'm always the last one sitting there and they're pulling the exam out from under my pen. Next exam is next Thursday (Feb 15th) - A biochemistry exam - ~Gene Expression in Eukaryotes~ So far, my studying is going really well and I'm confident I'll do well on the exam. Best of luck to everyone on your upcoming exams! netsavy006 02-07-07, 11:42 AM I have my test tomorrow... Scuter Puter 02-07-07, 11:11 PM Good luck Netsavy. Just took my 5th test today. Urinary systems. Good stuff, good stuff. So good I fell asleep studying watching Spongebob with my son last night lol. Made a 100 on it though! (I am even surprised at that one) netsavy006 02-08-07, 09:12 AM congradulations Scuter Puter. My test wasn't too bad either. (statistics)... netsavy006 02-08-07, 09:13 AM Though my professor has not said it for clinical/counseling, according to the sylibus, there is a test after the chapter on Psychoanalysis, and that's the chapter were on now, so I'm expecting a test in that class soon... tkdchic78 02-08-07, 11:44 AM I just had my first test today in Calculus while on medication (I was just recently diagnosed) and it's amazing, I could actually complete a problem without feeling frustrated and just skipping the question. I expect an A on the test. People really take for granted being able to focus. netsavy006 02-08-07, 11:59 AM I sure would like to be able to focus better but I have to deal with my problem as stimulants give me tics.. Scuter Puter 02-09-07, 08:58 AM Netsavy, thanks =D I hope you did well on yours as well. l netsavy006 02-10-07, 12:30 PM Thank you Scuter Puter... MS0178 02-13-07, 09:57 PM I have had one test in Trig so far (test 2 is tomorrow) which I got a 76 on. Four quizzes in Ethics which I bombed (30, 80, 60, 50) and one in Stats which I think I did pretty good on but won't get back until tomorrow. I just cant focus enough in Ethics to be able to read-comprehend-and remember the information. I love the class I just cant keep my brain in it. Now I am spending lots of time in my Prof's office hours re-discussing what was done in class. It seems to be working a little better that way. How the heck is an inattentive ADDer supposed to read Aristotle anyway???? (want to give it a try? Look up "Nichomachen Ethics" in google and go for it! lol) ADizzyGirl 02-14-07, 12:15 AM Aristotle wasn't too painful for me, probably due in part to the fact that I had friends in high school who were really into philosophy, especially the Greek philosophers. I liked what we read of Nicomachean Ethics. Nietzsche I'm finding interesting but a bit of a tougher read.. unfortunately, my professor decided to show a movie in class today. It was two old British men, sitting on a brown couch in an ugly brown studio, talking about Nietzsche for an hour.. I seriously considered just getting up and leaving about halfway through and I think I understood it less than before when it was over :faint: First organic chem exam of the semester is this Friday.. we've been doing the same thing for the last two weeks, so I don't anticipate any difficulty. janesays 02-14-07, 02:10 PM I have to read JS Mills Utilitarianism and write a five page paper. I usually read philosophy very slowly and over and over again. I will probably read it twice before I begin the paper. We watch movies in class too. netsavy006 02-16-07, 04:45 PM I had another test today. It was for CIS 103 (Visual Basic - OOP-I) It's a computer class where we use a program called visual basic 2005 on the computer. I don't think I got an A but I do know it's at least a C, which is great :D auntchris 02-19-07, 04:17 PM Yep, I have has 2 quizzes in my Education Class 200, one Quiz in ED/ Diveristy. One test in Math, and having my midterm part one on Wed. Oh and in Western Civ had one quiz so so and we are having a Map quiz on Friday. netsavy006 02-19-07, 07:25 PM Western Civ I did ok in. I got a C-... auntchris 02-19-07, 07:48 PM Yeah but this western civ is about Mesopotamia and the yrs. I dont know how to study for it. She give pop quizzes too. All of my professor do this term. I just found out that my midterm for Diversity 300 is going to be postponed. that was the day the college closed that we were suppose to have are review for class. So that is good, I have another week to study. YEAH OpieBopie 02-20-07, 09:07 PM Psychopathology march 2, Health Psychology and Social Psychology Feb 28... But I did hand in a paper... netsavy006 02-20-07, 09:29 PM I have a test soon in Art 228 (Modern Art)... MS0178 03-02-07, 04:40 PM Had a test in Trig today, and I will be blissfully surprised if I manage a C. I generally do not have this much trouble in classes, but at this point, Ill be happy to pass come end of the semester. Blech. ADDosaurusRex 03-02-07, 07:13 PM no tests. ever again. just lots and lots of art/design projects. netsavy006 03-02-07, 08:58 PM I wish that was all I had to do... ADDosaurusRex 03-03-07, 10:33 AM all? whoooa...that's a total understatement. it's not like that at all. especially if you're adhd. project after project. and you know how us adders handle approaching projects. it's awful. stressful. demanding. competitive. i have to work 2-3 times as hard and get half the results, and at a big expense to my physical and mental self. as i'm sure you do with your exams and everything else. i get great ideas and can only take them so far because my mind is overwhelmed. everything ends up being last minute. it might look alright to others. but i know i can do better. and i have always felt something very physical stopping me from taking things to a level i'm satisfied with. and i am a very driven individual toward my career. it's a never ending cycle of excitement and ideas - anxiety about starting - procrastination - mental block to the max - last minute starts - mediocre finishes - no sleep - disappointment - frustration - doubt - goes on and on... auntchris 03-03-07, 07:19 PM Is there anyone out there that can tutor me in fraction, decimals , percents and in geometry. auntchris 03-03-07, 07:20 PM I got a 50 on my math test and am able to take a make up in april so I want to do well, any one can help? snow pirate 03-05-07, 12:37 PM I'm done my midterms and tests for about 2 weeks, then I've got 3 in a row... why is everything always lumped together? netsavy006 03-05-07, 12:55 PM That's the way college is. One test after another. One paper after another. MS0178 03-05-07, 01:30 PM I got a 50 on my math test and am able to take a make up in april so I want to do well, any one can help? I will help you as much as I can from here. PM me with what your having trouble with, we can schedule a chat time/phone call/etc. I am pretty good with fractions, dec., etc. Im just cruddy with sin, cos, tan. netsavy006 03-07-07, 01:41 PM I've got another test in Psych Stats today. It will be a breeze... MS0178 03-07-07, 06:13 PM I got my Trig test back today.......60%. Not too excited about that. Hopefully the next one will be better. I can't believe its time for midterms already! |
