I've been taking 2x18mg of strattera since late September-early October (I can't take 1 daily 40 mg capsule without having digestive side effects).
Since around that same time, I've been having PMDD-like episodes of depression. For 2 weeks each month, I feel like crap and can't concentrate worth beans. I know that stimulants sometimes can stop working as well for women right before "that time of the month" -- is this also true for strattera?
I'm wondering if my PMDD-like depression episodes may be occurring because my dosage of strattera is insufficient. I do okay the rest of the time, but just feel totally unravelled for those 2 weeks when (theoretically) my hormone levels are lower.
I just recently bothered to do the calculation for how much strattera I should be taking for my weight. I am an adult female, 5'4", and weigh 130-135 pounds. If I did my math right, I should be taking between 50-60 mg, which is quite a bit more than 36 mg.
Any ideas? I see my pdoc in 12 days and really need to get this figured out... I'm on day 10 of sadness, irritability, and have no motivation to get any work done at all.
