I need to start a plan of action.
I went undiagnosed until a year ago, ADHD never even came up. As a result, it took me 8 years to get through my bachelors.
I was warned my numerous therapists and docs that one day I would break and realize that I wanted more than a BA in anthropology. Hit that point about 3 weeks ago. I intend to go back for a PH.D but don't want to blow it by tripping over old habits or ADD issues. Judging from past and current situations, I have no clue what I need or how to find it. Does anyone have any advice or tips or experience on setting up some sort of groundwork or plan for grad work?
I am totally in the dark here, so any and all info is greatly appreciated.

If you have documentation of your disability you can bring that over to the college's disability office. The person there will need approprate documentation in order to recieve accomodations like extended time on tests. One thing I would also reccomend doing is speaking with the therapist and letting him/her know which old habits you would like to break. This way when school comes around you will be ready with a new foundation for tackiling your coursework. Good luck...

do you have documentation?
take it to the disability office and they
will help you with accommodations.
Check out the college for any individual tutoring
Stay organised and up dated at home on laundry, and organised apt / home.
time management is my worste problem at the moment.
get the calendar for your note book form staples and keep track of everything at one glance. that was thet biggest help for me. hope this helps.

I got a ton of documentation. No worries there. And I'm actually pretty organized.
My biggest problem is motivation and planning. Especially when it come to breaking down projects and figuring where to start. Just trying to figure out where to start and most of the initial lit research overwhelms me to the point of shutting down.

I have found a new study method.
You need to think like this:
I really want to know about subject (A) and something about subject (B). Then read. Then think... I really want to know something more about subject (C). Then read....
It should work...

Yeah steven reading is good but she is having motivation problems too, and I understand that problem too.
I am having the same issue and the only thing I can tell you at the moment is to stay organised in your apt and class material. keep a calendar a month version so you can see when all the reading is due. Say you have a book to read like I do before Wednesday , count all the pages you have to read and divide by the number of days you have to read.
u can also break it down into small sections. When you are at home, study the same subject every night at a specific time for the same amount of time. Hey that is a good idea. Good Job AC.
For instance, say you get home at 5pm, give yourself an hr to eat. At 6 you will work on Lit, at 6:30 get something to drink , just to move. then go back to the lit for 30 more minutes.. Okay at 7 it is Math time for an hr. at 8 and so on.
I hope this helps/

I totally relate. it took me 4 1/2 years for a 2 year degree...that was 15 years ago... I have returned to college in Jan. This is whatI did.... My psychiatrist and I worked a few months ahead to figure out my meds... to see what was best... For me anyway my meds help me get the work done..
