This is more of a rant than anything else, but -- because of President's Day I had a three day weekend from work and planned to use it to get a ton of homework done.
That was, of course, until my period started, rendering me helpless and nonresponsive to Concerta's maximum "recommended" dose, 72 mg. Even my backup plan (Monster energy drink, seems to give me a boost when all else fails) does absolutely nothing. And I'm back to square one and so frustrated that this weekend has been a festival of lying on the couch and surfing dumb websites while my textbooks sit on a table across the room.
I tried yesterday, really *tried*, to read one chapter. I couldn't get past the first paragraph, and in turn I felt more depressed and useless and hoping that this wouldn't last into my workweek. WHY does this have to happen once a week every month? Don't get me wrong, Concerta is BEAUTIFUL for the other three weeks and I wouldn't trade it for anything. But being back to my old foggy, forgetful self is not encouraging. It still happens when I skip a period (by taking the blue birth control pills two months straight, as recommended by my gyno).
I want to cry. :(
