I am new on this forum and I just started taking Strattera 3 days ago. I have never been tested with ADD I have just always known I have hade it. So I went to my doc because I thought I was deppressed and I told him all of my symptoms. It is embarrassing tell someone that I am so bad I can't go grocery shopping or pay bills, my husband has to do the responsible stuff because there is no way I could ever do it right. The doc told me it was ADD and not deppression. He gave me Strattera right away saying it was like the lastest and best ADD drug. I had been doing a lot of reading up on Strattera and Adderall and which would be the best. I have read so many success stories with Adderall and hardly any with Strattera. I would have rather started with something that actually works. My biggest thing in my life right now is lack of energy and motivation to do anything.Strattera so far has made me feel like I have been in a dream and I am more tired and scatterbrained than before:confused::faint: . That is something I don't no if I could handle for six months for it to kick in. I work full time and I have a 1 year old and a five year old I have to take to school every morning.NO time for naps for me. I have to be awake during my day. I am going to give it a chance to get into my system and see how it does. I would like to hear more about it though. Does anyone here think it better than Adderall? I have never had Adderall, I am just so curious to how that would help me. I go back to the doc in three weeks. So maybe I will be able to see some good out of Strattera then. I started at 40mg btw, and that is where I am now. Wish me luck ;)

Greetings cloud1 and welcome to the fourum! The best advice I can give you is to stick with the Strattera for at least a little longer yet. I have been taking it for three weeks now and just within the last few days started to notice the improvments. It can take up to six weeks to reach full effectivness. Finding the right medication and dosage can be a long process, but its worth the wait in the end.
