I got a call yesterday from a friend who is about to start her meds...
She thinks that once she's on meds, she'll be able to get it all under control in the shake of a back-up dancer's hips. She said "I know what I got to do, meds, book (her fiance got her a book on clearing up her credit), and new job." I've tried to tell her that it's not like that. That first there are months of working out the right dosage, and then comes the hard work. But she says she doesn't have the time to read up on any of it until the rest of the meds, credit and job issues are settled.
Here's my worry: What the heck am I supposed to say to her when she calls in a few weeks and wants to know why things aren't fixed?
She's a good friend, but has become rather whiny and needy over the years and I dread getting a phone call and having to listen to an hour of "but I did such and such and I'm on meds, now what am I supposed to do?" only to be cut off half way through my response.
