Have they found a possible reason for a high link between sensory issues and Asperger's disorder?

If one goes for the "connectivity theory" of autism, wherin white matter abnormalities are the cause of ASD, you sort of have sensory issues by default due to either too much connectivity or too little connectivity leading to processing problems with regard to sensory input.
