I have recently been diagnosed with add after I attended college and failed all my classes because i couldn't make myself study. My doctor put me on concerta, but it made me sick and made my heart rate go up ( like i was running). Then she put me on adderall and that helped alot.

The adderall seems to help my pdd as well as my add.

It helps me socialize with people. I play more with my daughter on it. I worry less.

has anyone had similar experience? Or is it just me? and why does it help with my pdd symptoms? ( shouldn't adderall make my symptoms worse.?)

It's great to hear that the adderall is working for you. Some meds make you worse and some make you better. This varies from person to person. For me, stimulants did make me worse, but that doesn't mean it makes everyone worse. I guess maybe it's correcting an imbalance and by correcting that imbalance, it helps your pdd.

Hope this helps...

duorc, it is not uncommon for people within the PDD spectrum to benefit from stimulant meds.
