I'm in aspie hell right now. I'm having a mini-crisis at work where I'm juggling two critical projects concurrently.

One one of them is a website. My boss in his usual NT style, did not specify what was expected for the deliverable because he did not want to micromanage. That's OK but most of the important requirements were delivered to me verbally which is aways a disaster unless I have 100% attention to what he is saying and taking notes. But I'm being bombarded at all angles and asked to multitask. There's supposed to be a cache of images I am to use but the location of the bounty was mentioned in a passing conversation. I can't force my boss to stop, explain things slowly so that I can write the details down. Or can I? I'm in sensory overload and my executive functioning is running on empty. Now the deliverable is due tomorrow at close of business. I foresee an all-nighter to correct oversights because I failed to be my own advocate by asking for what I needed. Executive functioning has shut down and I'm gasping for air.

The other project is rolling out a high-end e-mail server at our office. We're starting from a totally new server (a 16 processor mainframe) and a version of Linux I have not had exposure to. I'm reading thick manuals until it hurts! The rollout is on the 15th of January 2004. There's stuff that needs to be done like security lockdown, filesystem quotas, etc. All tasks that require skills I'm acquiring on the fly.

The extra hours and extra demands is taxing me to the max. I have not had more than two days off in three months.

I need some support. I need some coaching in regards to explaining my situation to my boss.

Maybe you could casually ask about the image cache, and let him know that you want to CLARIFY the details because you were mulitasking at the time and you wanted to make sure you had all the details correct.

I would put the email thing on the back burner and talk to the boss about the website and quick before he leaves for New Years Eve festivities.

Good Luck

You could also send a note to your boss saying that you're documenting your progress as you go along. Could he confirm for you the following information:

1......
2......
3.....
