Hello, my name is Josh. I've had issues with ADD and ADHD my whole life. I've always been hyperactive. I'm almost always tapping my foot and such. I'm obsessive and sometimes I need to let things go, like if I lost 20 bucks or something. I eventually let it go, but it bothers me for a little while. I've been getting better at it though. I'm now 21 and I feel as if my problems got progressively worse since I was 17. Some of this might not be ADD and ADHD related. I took ritalin (along with trying other stuff for a week or 2 at a time, but not at the same time as any other medicine) off and on from about 9 or 10 until about 14 I'd say.

Let me explain some issues.

1. I'm 6 foot tall and about 195 pounds. I'm about 5-10 pounds overweight. Though, everyone tells me I shouldn't lose weight because I look normal, due to muscle. My blood pressure, if I force myself to be calm, is about 122 over 68. When I'm not controlling myself, it's about 130 over 72 and about 20 minutes after I do sprinting, it's 144 over 80. When I sprint as fast as I can, for a VERY short time, I get out of breath easy. Though, when I pace myself, I can go farther than some of my friends (I've heard that ritalin can cause heart valve damage, but I don't know if it's true). This has happened ever since I could remember, which could be when I started taking ritalin.

2. Starting around 17, I always felt like I had no energy. It's gotten worse since then. I'm not depressed. I could literally just lay in bed all day and sleep off and on and still be tired (This may be from sleep apnia, since I have light snoring, haven't checked yet).

3. Also, within the last couple years, my memory diminished (short term memory). When I was younger, everyone always boasted about my great memory, but now, I have a lot of trouble remember things short-term. Sometimes people tell me things like numbers or where I put something, and I will forget it two seconds later without even trying to. This has happened a fair amount of times.

4. Also, I have a huge sexual drive. I feel like I always need the sex. I see that many other ADD's feel this way, and many others are on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I would appreciate everyone's imput on what they think about this and if they can relate. Any ideas?

Well was born hyper active and still am

My short term memory always sucked, but I have an excellent long term memory

I enjoy "physical relations" however I do not always feel like I have to have it, I do have to have love and acceptance.

I am 5 foot 6 and weight about 120 pounds.

But I have ADD. . . .and sleep sound pretty good to me right about now.

Not in any specific order in relation to posted points(my suggestion is the last lines if you want to skip ahead:

1. I've had extensive testing of my heart and they found no issues--I took Ritalin for 9 years and Concerta for 1 year.

2. I wish that I was 195 lbs. I'm 5'11 and there are days when a couple flights of stairs almost make me feel out of breath--I'm sure that I'm twice your age though. :D

3. Sex Drive? Still WANT it/NEED it all the time. Don't get it--but want it...and a great massage too! I settle for ogling women with pretty faces and getting hot and heavy with my wife a couple times a year. (Warning: porn makes it worse! :faint: )

4. Short term memory - Not much of an issue since I've been on meds and taking the right supplements like B-Complex and Gingko-Biloba.

Buy the book "YOU, the owner's manual". It has lots of great tips about taking care of your body. It's not ADD related but all of the ADD symptoms are improved when your body is operating at its best.
