For those of you who might not have seen it, yesterday's comic about clutter.

Not ADD, but which of us can't relate?:D
Hard for me to see a light side of it; as I sit among my scattered piles of too much, I am reading emails from my sisters about their slog thru Mom's possessions. Mom and Dad had an apartment building; when they got too much junk, they'd just stop renting an apartment and fill it with crap. My sisters, God luv'em, are doing that work, while I have moved poor addled Mom in with me, 24/7.... and making determined efforts to not lose my mind. But damn, I'm scared of doing a similar thing to my kids. Yikes. Am goingto do something on this tonight, and stop writing about it. Discipline. Must.apply.discipline. It's not going to go away by itself, I do have to actually exert force upon these objects. I shall do it NOW. For fifteen minutes, and then I'll return to enjoyable activities.

I think anyone who tried to rob my house would end up like a Home Alone movie-once the dogs got done either licking a new friend to death or scaring the crap out of them. My sewing room would create a voodoo punishment-no stocking or barefeet there if you know what I mean!
Damn! I'm rereading my post; how ADD can you get. I did NOT do that fifteen minutes. I got caught up in another interesting thread. I am dooming my chhldren to the same fate my sisters and I are suffering. I'm going to Mom Hell; I mean, it's worse that I'm doing it, becuae I KNOW how bad it is to do it. My own Mom, well, she's not responsible for it now.
I think anyone who tried to rob my house would end up like a Home Alone movie-once the dogs got done either licking a new friend to death or scaring the crap out of them. My sewing room would create a voodoo punishment-no stocking or barefeet there if you know what I mean! There is a running joke that anyone who broke into my house would assume the job had already been done and head straight back out.
But as one person said, it isn't really funny at all. Humour is a great stress reliever, and where clutter is concerned, badly needed :)
I am having a terrible problem with this - i am moving and cant get it together - never have in 7 yrs in my house. finally i just let everyone in and said take or throw away - i need to just let go of everything material because i cant organize or keep track of it :(
am having a fine and productive decluttering week. Am tossing things! Useful things! Things that I paid money for once upon a time, that have been collecting dust in corners and on shelves... and I'm ruthlessly throwing them out. They might as well be thrown out, as stuck in an unreachable spot for years.
I'm proud of me.

The back seat of my car used to be my unorganized storage. My car did not get broken into until I cleaned it and organized it!!! Then the thief could find what they were looking for!
