I haven't actually looked into this yet, kinda planning to. Can anyone tell me what the chance is of a child having the same personality type as a parent or is there a high chance that if one parent is one type and another parent is another type that the child will be a certain type.

i know that the personality is formed from environmental factors as well i was just wondering.

Lee...as a Step Mum, I can see, even though my kids have never lived with their bio-mother as kids, they certainly have some of her traits..the boy in particular..
and I have a customer who never lived with her daughter, yet they are FREAKILY alike, in looks and personailty..even down to the way they shake their hair, talk, dress, and walk etc etc..

My daughter looks like her father, and ACTS exactly like him, even watching TV out of the corner of her eye, just as he did..and she hasn't lived with him since she was 7..(she's 16)
My other daughter is the same as me...lol..she looks more like me, and nothing like her dad's personality...
so, from my experience, biology plays a HUGE part :-)

but, my sisters, who try so desperately NOT to be like my Mother, still show quite a few traits of her personality..
Environment plays a big part too..but I think biology wins hands down ..

PS..why??? are we planning an addition to our family?????

I really dont think that every one agrees that the personality is formed just from evironmental factors, Genes has some to do with it also. U know the old nature vs nurture debate. Personally I really think that it has to do some with both, and I think that it is not too late to change parts of us that are not desirable if that is what the person wants to do. just my little take in it.
