you don't have to be high to change the subject 15 times in a 5 minute span.

You can just blurt out nonsensical words at random and people who know you don't give you funny looks.

Loofah!

What's bad is that I'm married to a wife that's finally getting used to this problem.
At first, I'd lose her.
I still do.
There is a stereotype with certain people, that they can't follow people because of a certain physical trait.
I won't desribe my wife to you, because a few members of this board have taken some offense (as they should have) at this stereotype from others around them for a lot of their life.
I don't want to add to it here out of my respect for these members.
So, I'll only say that my wife has trouble following me, because her thoughts are all over the place.
I swear she has ADD but she denies it.
My family is used to it, and some are on a lot of caffiene so they can keep up!
Plus, after living with me for 37 years, they are just used to switching subjects like channels on the tv. :D

The adventures of unplanned trips, conversations and reactions.

Being able to see one subject from seven sides. . . .hey I can argue with myself.

I do not pay to go some where and exercise, I go some where exercise and get paid for it. {I am hyper ADD type}

Saying what every one else is thinking but are not impulsive enough.

Catching rattle snakes and tarantulas. . . taking pics before releasing them

Being able to still climb trees and run at 40+++

Seeing all the stupid stuff most consider normal. . . . .

finding stuff you totally forgot you had, and it's a pleasant surprise:). I often find money this way.

Today I found a box of frozen waffles (thankfully in the freezer) that I had completely forgotten I purchased! It was great! (Of course I kind of forgot about the ice cream I went in there for in the first place and made waffles. Then remembering the ice cream, I got that too. Ice cream and waffles for dinner at 11pm. Thanks Adderall!)

A agree with chris. I am not ADHD hyper active im inattentive but my little girl is ADHD and she drives her self crazy sometimes with TRYING too do so many things at one time or not even being able to sit still. I have the problem with starting one project and going off starting 10 more and i cant stand it but cant help it,ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!! :faint:

Getting great ideas for things when you're focused on completely different topics.

Finding solutions to problems that don't follow traditional problem-solving methods because you can't be bothered with logic.

I often pick up on conversations that had ended hours, days, weeks ago as if they were still going on. Or go into a conversation on a completely random topic (to others) almost in what seems the middle of it. Random series of questions, etc.
I don't seem to notice if others do it, and confuse the hell out of people when I do it. The bewildered look on people's faces can be fun. Not so fun if they get annoyed with it, though.

Catching rattle snakes and tarantulas... chasing butterflies flyin' round the caverns of mind - through the

inadvertently

exit ...

into the warm lush light of Reality.

It exists.

Smashing Pumpkins
'Drown'

Though 'drown reciprocal' works better

... and wtf is this post about ... hey ... simple ...

Why was the bad apple hanging off the 'Tree of Knowledge'?
It's all right there.
How much did we pay to buy that apple ...

... don't forget that we are creations of nature.

And the fun side of ADD

->-.................that pull back into the arms of nature ...
->-.->-->-->-->that pull back into the arms of nature ...
->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-->-nat*ure ...

into the warm lush light of Reality.
into the 'omg is this real?' Reality

- better by design
ADD

... geeze - we kinda' gotten ADD kinda' wrong :-)
no worries though
coz it's gonna' turn out that pretty much everything is going to be affected by the change in perspective which comes
from the

->- shortly -<-

to be accepted *by everybody*

coz it's right

... of the 'nature of mind'.

The cool bit is that it's good
and obvious

... and will give you a headache induced through a frenzy of
... self-forehead-hitting-'d'oh! nuts'-
moments.

hmmmm, not being able to finish anything...not even a bottle of shampoo! at any given point in time you'll find lots and lots of bottles that are almost used up - i always start using new ones and can't finish the others!

It's not that they can't climb trees exactly - They just don't want the odd looks associated with doing something that is not considered 'adult like'.

I mean - all that running around and tree climbing Meadd?? You better be careful or you might actually have some fun!

Try combining them, if you pour all of them into one bottle you may have a whole bottle of shampoo saving yourself money and room.

Another fun part of being my kind of ADD – not having the attention span to give a _ _ _ _ what other people think.

I do have fun, my Lady dog loves it plus I stay in good physical condition. I don’t have weight problems My muscles stay toned, my joints aren’t stiff and I do not have back problems. I don’t have to bother with classes or gyms. . . .so let the NTers stare then they can compare . . . .my fitness level to their own.

I am 43 in a single work day it isn’t unusual for me to lift a ton of weight in a six hour period of time, I do not think I could do this with out the hyperactivity. I worked with some young men in their 20’s who were twice my size half my age. . .I worked circles around them. . . . . they wanted to see what I was made of. . . . .really scary stuff {pure hyperactive energy} :D

The fun side.......
linking things together that no-one else would think are connected...and watching their faces as they grope towards understanding :-)

Getting into that hyperfocal space to write......and then watching the writing groups faces when I read it out and they wonder where that came from

Realising why i am the way I am

Clicking with interesting people

Looking at my CV and remembering all those wild jobs

Having friends say some of the best times of their lives have been with me doing something spontaneous

Impulsively asking my wife to marry me....when I ran out of things to say at the traffic lights.

That's funny Kilted.
When I asked my wife to marry me, it was in TX in front of her parents
(12 hrs from my home).
All they were looking at was the ring, and she didn't notice I had proposed to her.
Her dad was the one that said "Hey Karen, I think Gregg is asking you something really important, then you get the ring!" LOL
To avoid another situation like that, get a Guiness Book of World Records.
When you can't find something to say, quote it.
"The biggest penguin is the King penguin that weighs 200 pounds." :D

Being able to wait until the very last concievable minute to do some work you've been procrastinating on FOREVER. And suddenly out of a sense of either necessity or self-preservation completing it in less time than it would take ANYONE else.

Being the best person I've ever known at coming up with really off the wall metaphors.

At knowing a little bit about everything, as at one point during my life I was bound to have briefly hyperfocused on whatever subject comes up.

At being the best person to have in the room when engaging in "brainstorming", or when required to think "out of the box". I think out of the box all the time.

spenceSTL, are you me?

I only speak in metaphors and analogies. Okay, well maybe 50% of my important communication comes out that way. And they're the best!

And also, I've pulled some amazing stuff off at the last minute, people don't believe me when I say I started working. Actually, I work the best that way. In college I would start a 5 page paper 3 hours before it was due. I'd be printing the bibliography and running out the door, to make it to class 5 min late. And get an A minus (the minus was usually followed with a 'lacks conclusion' or 'trails off at the end').

And yeah, I know a little bit of all kinds of stuff due to the hours and hours spent on the internet.

Just out of curiosity, are you inattentive, hyper or combined?

Dunno yet. I have an appointment today with a Psychiatrist to begin my diagnosis. If I had to take a guess, I'd say a bit of both, but probably leaning more towards hyper. I fidget like there's no tomorrow.

Hyper is fun. . ..

60+% of ADDers are combined, 30% are inattentive, while 9% are primarily hyper active. . ..

The fun side of being me . . . . remembering stuff except when it is important.
