View Full Version : Are you happier on meds poll irelander 03-21-07, 06:32 AM well? meadd823 03-21-07, 06:39 AM Lets just say I am less difficult on medications so other people are happier around me. goughy 03-21-07, 06:48 AM You took the words right out of my mouth!!! :) irelander 03-21-07, 06:51 AM answer the question dont beat around the bush goughy 03-21-07, 07:03 AM Fine. I'll say yes. I'm happier 'cause everyone else is happier 'cause I'm on meds. And that's not a bush. That's a gum tree! ;) When asking a heap of people with add a question you have to expect some beating around the bush. scatter-g 03-21-07, 09:06 AM It's nice to get in on a poll early on -- my "yes" vote just rocketed the yeses into first place... -g luke 03-22-07, 01:02 AM Does this mean as in now on meds, compared to before with no meds?? Or on meds then now off meds?? Cause i would say happier on meds comapred to before. BUT way happier off meds now compared to on meds. On the second day off meds my girlfriend even noted i looked more boyish, more rested. Admitedly im a little more all over the shop. But i notice i joke and smile alot more now!! Meds are to have on hand when i need to work on technical projects though... auntchris 03-22-07, 01:06 AM yes I am . I have epilepsy, ld, and going through perimenopause. I am much better on meds than I was a couple yrs ago, I know there are ar people here that can testify to that too. I was put on stratterra a few yrs ago, and it is helping. The only thing i dont like is it makes me tired. ~boots~ 03-22-07, 01:12 AM I don't think I am *happier*, as I don't think I was particularly UNHAPPY to start with..frustrated, and irritaing maybe :D ... I am still the same...I think I am more sensitive to others, ..sheez..I have no idea LOL.. spacedout 03-22-07, 01:40 AM I'm happier because I'm less frustrated and lost. Being able to focus is so great! Meds won't ever make all my ADD problems go away, but they do make life better. Lipz17 03-22-07, 02:06 AM I would say yes when i am on the right meds.I am not on anything at this time and it can make it more difficult for me in my studies at school. Butch 03-22-07, 02:36 AM I started on adderall about two weeks ago,it has it's positives and negatives, but I would have to say the former outweighs the latter. This is the first time in my life I've been on them and I'm in my mid thirties. It's like starting life all over. My drinking is down to about 1/4(if not less) what it was before I started on them.I've been so busy cleaning and organizing my house/work/life the last couple of weeks I,ve barely found time to come here and read the threads, much less post. I'd have to say I'm happier because for the first time in a great long while I actually feel like I'm getting things accomplished as opposed to just spinning my wheels. Fraz_2006 03-22-07, 06:37 AM I dont think that it is right to take these meds just to make others around you happy if it makes you feel bad yourself IMO. meadd823 03-22-07, 04:53 PM answer the question dont beat around the bush I noticed you are new here so I understand you may not be familiar with many of us regular members; however once you have been here a while you will find I rarely beat around the bush. I do try to word my post so that it shows some sensitivity because I have learned direct honesty doesn't have to be rude. I dont think that it is right to take these meds just to make others around you happy if it makes you feel bad yourself IMO. If the medications made me feel bad I would not take them period, I am not that self sacrificing . ;) The Adderall I take doesn't make me feel bad, so it doesn't hurt to take it if it helps me get along better with the people in my life. Being on medications means I shut up long enough to hear what they have to say. Because the Adderall gives me a "depot" between thought and mouth I have fewer :foot: plus I can present my point in a kinder more gentler way. When I do not constantly put others on the defensive my point is considered valid more often. Michiko74 03-23-07, 06:17 AM Yes I am happier because all the things I couldn't do before, I can now. That's not to say that it's been an easy battle. Taking medication certainly hasn't erased everything. There are days when I still struggle to get myself organized. That said, the medication makes it possible to do that, whereas before I'd just be spinning in circles. ~boots~ 03-25-07, 07:46 AM I noticed you are new here so I understand you may not be familiar with many of us regular members; however once you have been here a while you will find I rarely beat around the bush.
