I dont know where or who to ask so i will start here i am wanting ot buy a Mac Book Pro (the 2.5K$ one) and i am confused when they say intel core 2 duo (2.33ghz) does that mean there are two 2.33 ghz processors in the laptop or does that mean there are two processors inside the computer that equal to 2.33 ghz and if there are two 2.33 ghz's processors does that mean the laptops actually speed is 4.66 ghz or would it be lower higher?
are there any links to help explain this more?

That means the processor has two separate CPU cores which work as dual processors when the operating system supports dual core processors--which I believe Apple's OS does support. Think of it like the one CPU has 2 processors inside it.
The 2.33 ghz rating is separate and is not shared or divided.

It means that there are (essentially) two processors of 2.33Ghz each.
It's not really useful to think of the actual speed as 4.66Ghz, because the two processors (cores) will be doing different things at the same time.
It's a lot more useful to imagine that you will be able to do two lots of processing at 2.33Ghz (or just under, as the cores will share other system resources.)
