Hi ,

Well I've been on adderall for around a month. I thougth it was going very well at the beginning - work picked up, productivity picked up a little. I thougth it could've been better.

Anyways, about two weeks ago I developed this odd rash on my right thight. It was sore around it and I figured it was from going skiing the day earlier. I had a follow-up with my doct for the ADHD medication anyway two days after that so I figured I woulkd ask him there what the rash was all about. Well, turns out I have Shingles. The shingles have been getting worse for the past week now or so. Last week when I went to my doctor last Thursday he prescriped me Valtrex for the shingles and upped the Adderall dosage to 2 20mg pills daily, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, because the effects had been pretty much dead by 2pm.

Is there any relation between Adderall and Shingles? Also, does Valtrex have any effects on the Adderall? I have been pretty much taking them simultaneously and I feel like I have almost no ADHD control anymore.

I feel more confused than I did when I started this whole ADHD journey a half a year ago or so.

Amphetamines are decent at controlling pain.

wow really I wonder if the addereall is making it less painful.

The doctor checked but I was really curious as to

a) if the two drugs interact in any way
b) if the adderall could have caused the shingles

Hi Parafly...

I had a similar experience when I started Adderrall and mixing with Dexotrine. I developed a rash that resemble hives/chick pox on my upper body (stomach, chest, back) ...strange. It lasted almost 3 weeks. I went to my doc and he said reactions vary. Read the side effects detail, it discloses the rashes. Anyhow, I think it had to do with over-supplementing dexotrine and intense stress at the time. Luckily there was no scarring. Try Aveeno itch creme. It help sap those rashing bumps. Another thing I wanted to share is the rash did not itch. I just did want to bare my upper body.

Good luck and don't forget to bathe :))
