When I was younger I was hyperactive OUTSIDE of school with my friends and family. I am obnoxious, ALWAYS bored, threw temper tantrums, screamed, bugged people constantly, and had creative attempts to keep myself occupied. I started to grow out of my hyperactivity (we always blammed it on sugar) although occasionally I would get my hyper episodes every now and then.

In school, I was quiet, shy, day dreamy, starred out the window, drew pictures all day kid.

As I got older I became more innattentive. I picked up smoking and would smoke about half a pack a day started at a young age.

Not long ago: Quit smoking, returned to school, and noticed myself having tons of problems in college. (i understand now that smoking could have been used as a kind of therapy for ADD, and, explains why Ionly noticed my problems after I quit )

Now I am on ADDERALL.

But, I am noticing that if I miss taking my medication.. I am getting my hyper episodes back a little more. Just the other day.. I felt so wound up that I was ready to explode, litterally jumping around sometimes off furniture, running around, and, laughing at myself while traumatizing my boyfriend :p

I had forgotten exactly what it felt like to have this hyper episode.. and this one reminded me exactly what I was like as a child. It didnt last long.. maybe about 20mins (its worse and last longer if people are involved and kinda "keep" me wired in this behaviour)

Anyways, is this normal?
why is this returning now? More often?

Thanks for putting up with me and all my posts! :p

If you're asking about your ADD symptoms being worse when you're missing your meds, yes that does happen. If I skip my meds, my focus isn't as sharp and I'm very, very sleepy.

Anything having to do with your medication needs to be addressed by a dr.

I have always been hyperactive but because I am "gifted" 158 IQ apparently, it may be the "overexcitability" combined with "asynchronous development" I have a social skills issues as well so I guess the Asperger's part is there as well, but they put labels on all sorts of things and that could be simplified in my opinion.
