hey kids! i have a 60mg a day dosage with adderall-and, i had a new script w/30 mg pills 2x a day instead of the old 20mg 3x a day. so, being the space cadet i am-i forgot a few days that it was only 2x a day and i ended up taking the extra 30mg dose. so, basically i took 90mg a day for a week or so off and on-and some days taking over 100mg. people said i should be revved up, but on the contrary...im exhausted! i feel fatigued with the big dose. anyone else ever experienced this? i was terrified i was addicted and cut myself off for a day and a half; no side effects. and i felt less tired...:eyebrow:

Well I don't know about the effects of your higher dosage. But I get real tired and sleepy some days and I'm on XR 30mg. From what IV read its normal for it to make you tired, it is supposed to calm you down and make you the opposite of how you are without them.

Adderall was the only prescription stimulant to cause me to experience pronounced sedation. It literally made me feel like I had been hit with a tranqualizer dart.

All the other stimulants (Dexedrine, Desoxyn, Focalin, Ritalin) cause me to experience traditional stimulation and mental clarity. I'm not sure why the Adderall works as differently as it does in me, but it certainlly acts differently.

I don't know that any of the stimulants I took caused me fatigue? I know I have taken higher doses, and gone to sleep anyway? Hmm I know some of the higher doses of other stimulants before getting on the Adderall, shut me down? I mean, I didn't want to talk, I just wanted to get the task at hand done?

Um... first 3 days I took ADDERALL put me to sleep for a blissfull hour. It was the best nap I have ever had, and, it didnt matter what uncomfortable position I was, or where I was (school) I would pass right out.

It was great.

Hell yes! I did NOT read the articles (yet), but I don't think you're talking about the same kind of tiredness the poster is talking about. Many people have experienced a strong soporific effect from Adderall, when they're otherwise well-rested. Your post, if I read it right, seemed to address a situation where people feel run down and tired because Adderall is affecting their sleep patterns. Totally different and unrelated phenomenon. I went through it for about a week. I would wake up totally refreshed from a good night's sleep, but when I took the Adderall, it was like getting hit with a tranquilizer dart. This was months after I'd started taking it. It lasted for a week or so, then went away. I have a working theory on it, but as I said, no one knows for sure why it happens.

This "tranquilized" effect is happening to me and I've been on the XR 10mg once daily for a little over a week... It's getting to be a bit irritating. I might have to make a switch very soon.
