Without Adderall, I cannot muster enough attention to read through posts. I skim a few sentences at best. It's like my brain just wants to get the point as fast as possible. Anyone else experience this?

Yes, I do. There's so many interesting informations in there but I have trouble reading it more than a few sentences of a post. Same thing with books. Same thing with posting. I just discovered I have ADD and will meet a doctor for medication soon so I simply decided to wait until medication helps to read the ADD books I ordered and post on the forums (except this post). I have great ideas but I have the impression that I can't make posts that are as coherent as my taughts.

OMG, I can totally relate!! I feel so bad but when I open one that is more then a paragraph long I also find myself skimming through and probably missing important details. For me its almost worse when im on the medication, I just feel like I should be doing something productive. I find I can concentrate the most in the eveing when my body is begining to wind down.

I feel the same way when I'm not taking dexedrine. I can't read more than a sentence or two before I'm off and doing something else.

All the replies are short enough to get through. Any more sentences here and that's it. Done.

Even if it seems to be interesting. I can't get through it. Especially if there are more than one or two sentences that seem unnecessary or irrelevant - I get impatient and move on.

Even with adderall some of these posts are rough to read

I'm really interested in learning new things about ADD, which lets my concentration linger for about one paragraph, then I skim or close the thread :p

So we should have only two sentences per post. Even if we're longwinded and it takes 15 posts, at least there's a greater chance of them being read.

When the posts get long, I think "blah blah blah". No offense intended to the poster though.:D

p.s. I've resorted to reading books a very small section at a time. If I catch myself drifting - I slap in the bookmark until next time.

I wish all of the Forums were like this. When I first got on here I thought, GREAT a bunch of ADDers, I can relate. But then I started trying to read these posts that were extremely lond and felt my self skimming.

Maybe it is just a different sub-type. We should have a forum that is called Short Responses Only!
