So has anyone else here done the Net dating thing? I'm just curious. If you can and want to focus your attention on it my long story follows :)
I met my husband online over a year and a half ago, prior to me moving to Las Vegas (for those who don't know, I'm in the military). I knew I was moving here from the east coast 3-4 months in advance, started look online for possible dates from back in maryland. My experience was this; I got married at 18, stayed married for nearly 4 years, seperated, and got divorced very quickly. Afterwards I dated exclusively via internet. It worked very well. Meeting people at bars is bad in my opinion (most of the time) and I don't date people I work with, nor did I want to get set up by someone one. So I chose what I wanted in a guy, put up an honest description of who I was, and persued internet dating. I only had one truely bad date, lots of prospects discarded, and several real relationships, short though they were due to the fact I moved (varied from 1-6 months). I moved here, dated my husband for 2 months non-exclusively, then exclusively after that. We got engaged 28 sept and married 23 nov this year (he has been stationed here nearly 6 years and if we are married they will move us to another base together, other wise tough luck, so no luxury as a long engagementin the military). I have been thrilled with the results. I think internet dating, when done honestly and with eyes wide open, helps unite people who otherwise might never bump into eachother.
So what do you think?
