The on call dr for my regular dr said that lamictal is one of the few FDA approved drugs for bipolar ii. He wasn't sure if my dr would be comfortable prescribing anythng non FDA approved for bipolar ii. I NEED A MOOD STABILIZER. I need a mood stabilizer that does not have a side effect of anorexia. I don't give a crap what the FDA says or not. Cause they're always the epitome of ethics and honesy. I need a mood stabilizer that isn't lamictal and doesn't cause weight gain, whether or not it's FDA approved for bipolar ii. I'm about to get really angry and flip my lid.

It's hard because you sometimes have to be patient and find what works for you, and continue to suffer the symptoms you hate. I wish there was something out there for all of us that would work immediately and with very few sideeffects. It's just not the case ... and franky that sucks. But you have come this far, don't give up yet. Don't let it win, Wish....
And some doctors seem to be over careful, but I guess it's to help us..and avoid making a situation worse, and of course because sue happy people have made it very difficult for them to step out there,,,and not lose thier lively hood they worked many long years to get...and let's not get into the insurance companies and how they "dictate" treatments more than the docs who specialize... again it sucks...

I hear your frustration, and I understand. I hope you can find something soon too. I know it's probably not much, but I just wanted you to know I hear you, understand, and I am sorry you are going through this.
