Hello! This is my first time to post in this forum, i have enjoyed reading the posts but finally decided i would start posting:). Well first off, i would say that ADD has been a seriouse problem in my life for a long time, not hyperactive ADHD for me, Inetentive space-man stuff that always cripilled me. For the past year in high school i got my meds for the problem via the street and freinds, because i have old fashion parents who beilive the disorder its just an excuse and think its a bunch of crap. Finally they found out i was doing this ets. ets. i end up unwillingly with a therapist who tells my parents i have ADD! wow what a shocker right. They finaly give in and get me to a doc, who 4 days ago prescribed me to 50Mlg of zoloft and 5Mlg. of IR adderall to be taken once a day. Idk if its just me saying this but isnt 5 mlg of IR adderall completely nothing at all. I mean is my doc trying to pull a placebo on me or somtheing? Im 6.2 190 Lbs. i just expected more, and i mean i didnt even think docs prescribed IR anymore. Just kinda wondering whats up with that?

Are you returning to see the doctor for another visit in a week or two?

They usually start you low and then keep going up until they find a sweetspot.

I admit I had some problems reading your post. (there are no breaks in it... no new paragraphs)

anyways... what dose are you on?

I am primarily inattentive. Although I believe I was both hyper and inattentive growing.... probably still am... since I have hyperactive episodes sometimes.

anyways.. I know that when I last saw my Psychiatrist he had mentioned upping my dose.. from 15mg to 20.

At the time I was like NO WAY!!!! I was still struggling with the new thought processes I was having. There was no way I could take more! I was struggling with a whole new way of thinking.... actually I am still struggling.

I know that they always start you off low.. then gradually increase. Sometimes they are wrong.

When i was on DEXEDRINE (before Adderall) I could have used a higher dose.. my psychiatrist didnt think I needed it.. and instead put my on Adderall.
So, all I can say is talk to your doc. you may need a different med.

Sorry, I dont have the best formating on anything i type out. Oh and my spelling isnt my best feature.
I am planning on going back to my docter in about 2 and 1/2 weeks, i was just somewhat shocked at the fact she gave me IR adderall instead of XR, is there even an advantage to takeing IR. If there is I thought IR was to be taken periodicaly throught the day, I take it once in the morning and then im done.
I am taking 5mlg adderall IR.
