I have been on adderall for 3 months now for (15mg XR, one daily to treat innattentive type ADD) and the most amazing benefit I have received from the drug (asside from toning down my ADD) is that it seems to temporarily alleviate many of the aches and pains that I use to suffer. I would suffer daily from a strange and subtle ache that seemed to emit throughout my entire body. It had plauged me for several years, and never seemed to go away. Medical test never indicated anything serious, but I suspect I may suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or fibromyalgia. I would treat it with anti-inflamatory drugs like ibuprofen. Though the ibuprofen would tone down the pain, outside from work, all I wanted to do was lay down in bed to ease the aches and pains long enough to get through the next day. After starting on adderall, the aches and pains seemed to have diminished greatly. I don't suspect they are completely gone, and the medication may only be masking the pain, but so far I have felt virtually pain free. I even seem to have very little, if any, pain during my drug vacations. I now move more and live more, and I have even taken up daily excercise. Can anyone explain why adderall seems to treat certain types of pain? I take several drug vacations with the hopes that I can make adderall a life long treatment without developing tolerance. I'd hate to go back to the life I had before.
