Companies are actually realizing that by focusing on management of chronic disease instead of raising premiums and copays, they can provide employees with the care they need and save money on health care costs. The insurance companies also save money because there are fewer hospitalizations and medical emergencies. Hopefully companies will also begin to apply this line of reasoning to providing adequate mental health benefits to employees.

I'm amazed that more employers and insurers haven't realized that if people get adequate preventive care and have the resources to adequately manage chronic disease, the employee, the employer and the insurance company all save money.
