What do women who are of child-bearing age do about birth control? I'm not ready to have my tubes tied. Does anyone know of any forms of effective birth control for women on trileptal or other anti-convulsants that can interact with birth control?

Do you have epilepsy or are you on an anti-convusant for something else? Some people take them as a mood stabilizer for bi-polar etc. I have epilepsy and take Lamictal.

here is a link to the epilepsy foundation about birth control

Problem solved! I found out that I can use an IUD with trileptal. Considering that I also have ADHD, it is probably for the best that I use a form of birth control that doesn't require taking a pill at the same time every day.

I can't take lamictal because of the rash. I am a recovered anorexic and had horrible acne in my teen years. So that rules out many of the meds used to treat bipolar.
