I have long suspected that I have Adult ADD. My symptoms parallel those of others in various ADD forums and match research I have done on the symptoms:

Inability to sit still (was on Dexadrine in my younger years)
Inappropriate comments given social context
If I have one task I get really bored if it is not really interesting
Do alot better under pressure with multiple tasks
The weird dreams
Racing mind, inability to "turn it off"
"Wired" constantly
Its all about me

Since I have known about these things for more than 20 years my strategies for coping are:

My religious faith

Sensing irrational exuberance. "Mind locks are OFF". Usually this leads to the bad comments and I have to wait for it to pass. Sometimes it gets so bad I have to grit my teeth to prevent an outburst.

Self monitoring my speech and constantly gauging social context

Taking on many tasks at the same time at work

As part of self monitoring, how many times is the other person mentioned in conversation?

If the conversation is not about me I get mad. I self monitor and correct.

It does sound like ADD :D

You said you took Dexedrine as a child, were you diagnosed with ADD when you were a child? Good luck with the psychologist.

I was just diagnosed with "hyperactivity".
