Outlook -- For ADDers, who by definition aren't the most patient and methodical types, Outlook can be a real pain. It's crude, slow, clunky, marginally intutitive, and just not too pretty to look at. And too often the 'business' features.. the 'meetings' stuff gets in the way of smooth operation.

My pick -- check out a little known Windows program called Student Life . Now up to version 1.1.1, I use it every day. It's the most user friendly personal organizer I've ever used. It's simplicity, speed, and cleaness of it's interface are a pleasure to use, and you can use it for much more than class scheduling. I use it for everything, pretty much. I've relegated Outlook for email only. Calendar, Tasks, Notes, they all suck. Student Life can do it all, costs $15

I'm not connected with the company, I just bought and use their software. I'm an ADD poster child too.

Hi Bri,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've purposely stayed away from ADD forums in the past, after lurking and reading so much 'victim' and self-pitying sentiment. Lately I thought I'd give it another shot, and have been reading a lot, and see that there actually is a lot of good info, tips, etc. And a lot of sympathetic ears too, I see. As you can probably tell already, I'm looking for real-world solutions -- I'm the 'identify the problem and deal with it' type. I'm not here to whine or find a shoulder to cry on. I just want to read what's worked for others, stuff I can try.

By the way, I like your signiture file.. Irish Proverb, but sounds very Zen!

Jim

Thanks!,
Well I hope you find what your looking for here. I don't think I whine in here either. LOL I know you weren't saying I was, just making small talk here. Sounds like you have a good way of approaching things. I try that but even if I know the problem I don't always know how to deal and sometimes visa versa. I need to work on that. Have Fun!:D

i downloaded time and chaos from isbister.com a long time ago. I can keep track of appointments, to do lists, telephone #s and addresses, and it has a calendar. And I can set a different color for every member of the family. And it synchronizes with various PDAs (which i do not have).

check it out: www.isbister.com
