Was recently diagnosed. Basically, my college history is a hit or miss trainwreck. Does diagnosis help anything? Is there anything that can be done about past grades and suchlike?

View Full Version : College history a trainwreck..what to do? cgrey 06-16-07, 05:53 AM Was recently diagnosed. Basically, my college history is a hit or miss trainwreck. Does diagnosis help anything? Maybe they can help you with some AEGROTAT marks for your worst course marks (e.g. "PASS" or "CR" is put on transcript instead of "50", etc.) Aegrotat Standing is sometimes given when a student has been sick. You'd likely need Testing paperwork to PROVE brain dysfunction for that sort of Academic Appeal. auntchris 06-23-07, 03:03 PM Yes being signed up with the disability office does help. The accommodations your counselor and you devise really help. I am not sure about past grades. I know my past grades are not averaged into my gpa. only the ones I have taken there. and I am a tranfer student. Being diagnoses helps in the way you know hat you are dealing with , then the medication helps you focus and the therapy you learn new ways to deal with new skill and work on self esteem and work on the moving forward to the furture. krutonz 07-23-07, 02:56 PM I'm very new to this forum but I totally understand you Cgrey. I am in fact in that same boat. But i'm not even sure if I have ad/hd or anything. Just seems like I do. Ppl always joked about it with me but I really didn't take it seriously until I've been cornered like I am now... Chinamerican 08-16-07, 12:06 AM If at all possible, take community college classes to boost your GPA. This is an issue for me b/c I want to go to law school but my college grades are shot so I need to give admissions something else to look at. If you go to school in CA, assist.org should help. |
