Provigil works extremely well for me, but the $400/mo price is just beyond ridiculous. I was doing some research online and found that Canadian pharmacies sell a generic version of modafinil called Sympathomimetic. Has anyone tried it? Does it seem equivalent to Provigil?
are you sure?
I think it's a little strange that a pharmaceutical be named Sympathomimetic

Oh, you're right. That is the "drug type" as opposed to name. I am basically looking at the 200mg generic modafinil from Cipla listed here:

I am a little worried that Provigil cannot be bought because it is controlled by the generic can. That doesn't make sense, does it?

Sympathomimetic is an action of a drug on the nervous system.
Sympathomimetic drugs are ones that stimulate the SNS, like Adrenaline/Epinephrine.
This stresses the Heart and Blood Pressure Systems.
The brand name for Provigil is MODAFANIL, iirc.

I don't know what you purchased, but it might fake, if it has a 'made up' name like that! (eg ephedra?)

ya u can't trust anything from canada ;)
I kid :)
Anyway, i have 0 experience with online pharmacies besides my prescription coverage's online pharmacy, that being said, I wouldn't order anything from such sites, but if you know the ropes then perhaps you know which sites are good (if any are at all)

IIRC The USA will come to your door and arrest you for buying a scheduled drug from a foreign country. Only a person with a valid DEA licence can purchase the product. However, in jail, a doctor will give you Provigil if you need it.

If they do put me in jail for it, at least it might be an opportunity to bring attention to the fact that the FDA needs to approve modafinil for use in treating ADHD so the people who need it can get it through their insurance policies.
