:confused: Has anyone noticed this bizarre side effect... I have been on addarall about 1 week and I am cursing like crazy.. I sometimes drop the f- bomb normally but now it seems to just pop out.. and surprise me... very weird, plus I am feeling very depressed from addarall...should I give it more time?

depressed from adderall? Or just, depressed, and now with the Adderall you have some energy behind it, and all this is coming to the surface?

Adderall is not real likely to cause depression. But we're not the ones to ask, talk to your doctor about the whole thing.

Depressed that Ive never felt before... Its definately the adderall... within about 20 minutes of taking it I feel like crying, and out of sorts... it kinda goes away, and I get energetic, but then towards the afternoon I get REALLY depressed again..

I really want this medication to work, so I don't want to stop, but If this is going to be a side effect permanantly I won't be able to take it!

The afternoon depression may be simple rebound as the medication wears off. I cannot imagine what the initial depression could be caused by. If it were me, I would be thinking about switching meds, since there are many to try and depression seems an unusual price to pay for clarity. IMHO of course.

It sounds like your verbal impulsivity is worse.

e.g.
-more disinhibited? (you are thinking it, and since Adderall it actually comes out now?)
-more irritable? (hence cursing; wouldn't normally curse?)

Or is it more like a tic? (Tourettes like?)

You might want to look into a med like Strattera that treats ADD and 'mild' depression;)

The pamphlet detailing side effects, etc. of Adderall that you receive with your prescription lists "emotional lability" as one of the potential side effects. I'm certainly not an expert, but this could be what's happening to you. You should discuss it with your doctor-- perhaps another med would work.

Thanks to all.. I think I need to stop the Adderall and try something else, I wasnt depressed when I started it in the least... now I have zero personality and am totally bummed... Im not sure what to try next, but I'll see what my doctor says....

I use to have this problem before I started Adderall. Then slowly it is subsiding, surprisignly. and now its almost not there. :-)

Really does sound like you need to try a different med.

Adderall might have made me curse but only because I was so cranky.

But I have a tendancy to curse like a sailor anyway. Lol. I actually think that Dexedrine is helping me clean it up a bit in certain situations.

The comedown from Adderall can cause me to get depressed. It usually happens in the afternoon for me as well. I curse a lot too. Don't think that has anything to do with the Adderall but you never know.
