Atheist - Without God. Theist - With God.

I am an Atheist, a man with no invisible means of support. I believe evolution theory, thus I also believe societies evolved in small 50 person tribes. Loaded with more facts than I care to type, I will only say that I did not pull this theory and belief system out of thin air; hours of research and studying the bible led me to this conclusion.

Are you a theist? Do you believe in the almighty GOD, who created the earth in 7 days? To those who are, please set aside your feeling and let me share a question with you - to help myself as well as yourself - to discover why ADD would be needed from an evolutionary standpoint.

50 person societies. For simplicity, 25 men, 25 women. 8 old men, 8 old women. 18 young children. 16 people between the age of 18-45. In every tribe there exists a leader, leaving 15 more people.

Of these 15 people, 7% of them have ADD. (according to amen clinic ADHD Frequency Studies) This means 1 person. 3-4 people ADD in the tribe total, but 1 person is ADD who is healthy, young and active.

So assuming this, lets say 1 child is ADD, 1 Adult is ADD, and 1 Senior is ADD.

Tribes exist for protection, support, and relationships. With no tribe, living out on your own in the wilderness, you would surely die - or join a tribe who will accept you.

Question Posed: What would the purpose of ADD be from an evolutionary standpoint? Where everyone else served the tribe leader, worked to gather food and water, and reproduced...what would the ADD persons role be?

Now I realize this questions leaves out many many possibilities, and this questions could also be posed for depression, schitzos, manics, bipolars, and all the rest. But just for fun, shoot out some of your ADD-ish ideas in this thread, what the hell you might learn something.

Unfortunately, this discussion is considered a religious debate, which is against the ADD Forum guidelines. It is against the guidelines as there is a tendency for such topics to promote highly defensive discussions that can spiral out of control. I'm not going to flat out delete this right now, but if you wish to discuss this topic without actually integrating religion into it, you may create a new thread (though it's probably better to be placed in ADHD scientific discussions).

With that, I now close this thread.
