Hello all!

A newbie contacted me via private e-mail. She is registered, but cannot seem to get past a certain point to actually post under her username. I have PM'd Andrew and she thought someone else may also have a suggestion. Here is her message. Anyone have any suggestions for her? Thanks so much everyone!

"I still cannot access the page of the Dore forum. This is getting a trifle frustrating! :-(

Can you offer any tips? I have emailed the Webmaster, with no response. When I try to log in, it tells me "Welcome heiferhelper" and then tells me that I do not have permission to access the page.

I'm open to all suggestions at this point! "

Fraz, is the username written exactly as heiferhelper - no spaces, etc.? There is no member registered with that username.

I had trouble at first, because I de-selected the "receive e-mail from admins" and "members" the first time. It took me about 5 mins waiting for the confirmation e-mail to realize my error. Gotta leave "admin" selected...

But if that user name above is right, can't help there.

To me, it seems strange to have that as an option during the registration process. Perhaps later, but many, like me, might select it at first if we just didn't want to get any more e-mails from the get go. Now that I think about it, I believe this's happened to me on a few other boards, too.

I usually prefer to receive emails from admin on any sites I'm on, but can't recall that I've gotten many of these emails unless the site had technical difficulties or was closing, moving, or needed more funding.

^ True. I think I just have a "no more email!" reflex, from filling out other forms or whatnot.

Don't hesitate to contact an administrator (Andrew, Andi or Kimalimah), they're the ones that can help.
