I'm going to the US for my PhD soon, and even I don't really think I need that college's disability services, I think it would be prudent to declare my ADD and AS-- diagnosed in my country-- to the disability service.
However, I found the documentation standards (http://www.uiowa.edu/~sds/documentation-guidelines/adhd.html and http://www.uiowa.edu/~sds/pdf/Psychological-Disorders-Guidelines.pdf ) would possibly be quite outlandish to the medical professionals here.
So, what should I do? I have two more appointments here, on 18th and 24th.
Sam, I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say the documentation standards would possibly be quite outlandish to the medical professionals here. I looked at both of the links you provided and the standards seem appropriate. ADHD is not considered a funded disability in our Canadian school system. By AS, are you referring to Asperger Syndrome? This diagnosis might have a better chance of receiving support, if needed.

What I mean here is: I have some uncertainities about the documentations. Why country is not known for educational adjustments, and I never followed an education psychologist (and my pretty recent disgnosis didn't help either); I am doubtful if the psychologist can finish material like these, especially in this tight time frame.
Well, hopefully you won't need support. Have you checked with the college's disability services to see if you can provide documentation at a later date, if needed?

I would rather ask if I needed to get a diagnosis in the US instead...
I would rather ask if I needed to get a diagnosis in the US instead...Good question. That might be the easiest way.

Good question. That might be the easiest way.It may, but there would be delays.
