Does anyone remember the episode of Ellen where she told her parents she was gay and then at the end of the show Melissa Etheridge gave her a toaster for being part of the club?

Turns out my on again off again long term BF is not the only one with ADHD.

I was just diagnosed on Monday. What a relief! The book title says it all doesn't it? You mean I am not lazy, stupid or crazy?

I started Dexidrine on Monday too.

Very interesting feeling being able to say to oneself " no I am not going to think about that (insert whatever thought you like) now I am going to finish what I am doing without getting up six times." :D

Guess you will probably hear from me more often as I will need to ask many questions along this journey.

Does this mean if the BF and I get back together I can no longer post in the Non Add Partner forum? What squirrel?
Maybe we should start an ADHD partner support forum for those with an ADD partner. Hee Hee.

There is a T-Shirt slogan that goes something something like "They say I have ADD...they just don't understand...oh look, a squirrel!"

Sometimes it says "oh look, a chicken" which is even funnier, since any sentence that ends with the word "chicken" is funny (in my opinion anyway!)

My husband thinks it is hilarious when I am full on ADD to say something like "Did you see a squirrel?" Or maybe, "Did you see something shiny?"

I was just implying that you didn't get your toaster because the person in charge of toasters saw a squirrel/chicken/something shiny. :)

I got it, laughed out loud. I clearly am going to need to practice communicating using the correct internet short cuts and smiley faces :foot:

Like that is a revelation! Oh, boy. This is going to be fun. If you don't mind I may very well use that line.

Go for it! Use it on your BF if you get back together - it breaks the tension if you are in an anxious moment and when the laugh is over, you won't remember what you were talking about anymore!
