I was actually diagnosed with ADHD about a month ago, however I've had it all my life. My parents just didn't really see it as a problem. So I decided to get myself into the Doc and see what's going on.
Anywho, so they started me off on 40mg Straterra and I got EXTREME nausia. So they switched me to 18mg Concerta. I was taking one a day for 7 days and now I'm up to two a day. I've noticed a big difference in my impulse control and my focus. But, I almost feel like a zombie or a robot. I don't really feel saddness and I don't get really happy. I don't really feel at all, I just do. I get angry, and for the littlest things. I'm more productive but I just don't know if it's for me. Ya know?
Does anyone know from personal experience the diff between Adderall XR and Concerta? Anyone tried Desoxyn?

I'm on Concerta. I only felt emotionless (unless angry) only once. Otherwise, I'm depressed less often, and it seems like I can communicate better with other people. I don't know if that's true, but I think it does.
However, the results in memory and focus are only minimal. I can remember the current date, but I do forget alot of stuff. Some of them are really huge.
I do feel better, but I wonder to what extent does Serotonin and Dopamine help with focus.
And, what's the amount of norepenephrine in Concerta? I just wonder how long does it work before I can notice myself becoming more focused and a faster thinker, and less absent minded or fog-headed.

I still forget things and I won't really know the extent of the effectivness until the fall when I go back to school.

ya I was on concerta, its just time released ritalin man. I think it sucks, two espressos work better for me if I can stay awake. Adderall is completely different. if you take an adderall your brain focuses, its similar to being at the eye doctor.
You know when he flips the lense from the really blurry one to the clear one? Well imagine the blurry one as your everyday life, and the clear one with adderall. Its amazing, I only wish I still had health coverage.

My first reaction would be that if you have that zombie feeling that you are taking too high of a dose. (Although I would not consider 18 mg high)
I for one cut my dose (Adderall regular release you can't cut the extended releases) in half. I don't know how bad your symptoms are but I personally would rather tough it out than have that feeling you are describing.

Ritalin made me irritable and sort of hyperfocused on my own stuff for awhile when I started 7 years ago. I grew out of that, and it subsided, once become more accustomed to it.
