I had a job that I got fired from last year. I worked there 4 years.
I wouldn't have been able to hold that job if I did not have dexidrene.
I see so many people posting:

Can't hold a job, getting fired etc.

I just want to know if you are on meds or not and if anyone else feels the same with me. Are the meds keeping you from loosing your job?

Meds definitely make it easier for me to do my job well.

I should have realized that. I was put on meds -- Prozac which IMHO caused a rapid cycling in and out of the depressive & manic sides of ADHD.

I am about to be fired from a job that I haven't even held for three months. Today my supervisor met with me. We had the longest conversation since I started in early May and said that I wasn't meeting expectations and I had two weeks to either improve or be terminated.

I just can't be successful at any job in my field -- accounting. Either I make too many careless mistakes or don't catch on quickly enough.

Stimulant meds?? Isn't Prozac like a stimulant med?? I have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, some degree of OCD by many different psyc docs over the years never adhd. My last psyc doc wanted me to go for full psyc testing for ADHD which would cost $$$$ before he would consider giving me a ADHD type drug. He just upped the dose of Prozac which made me too wired & manic that I had to start cutting down the dose on my own.

I workout 5 days a week -- weights + Cardio + Kickboxing / Boxing. I am taking Creatine 3 times a day along with the Prozac.

Today, I get called into my managers office (first real conversation of any type since I started in early May) and told that I am not progressing as well as I was expected given the money they are paying me and basically told I have 2 weeks to do so. They relocated me & paid me $5,000 + 30 days of corporate housing at their expense, I wish we could have had this discussion earlier. We never spoke one on one before and he reiterated what he thought he told me about the position at the interview which was back in early April

I don't know if my problems are ADHD related or more of anxiety since IMHO the Prozac has improved things but obviously not good enough or it has led to the manic side of ADHD.

Are there things that your employer and you could do that would help you be more successful at your job?Unfortunately, I think it is too little too late. Two weeks isn't enough time and they can always say that 'They don't feel that xxxxx (whatever) and they are ending my employment immediately'.

Mania is not part of ADHD. Does that help? What do you mean?? Bipolar & Hypomania have similar symptoms to ADHD.

Prozac might lead to mania (some antidepressants can, in those who are vulnerable; just like Pot can make some people go psychotic; drugs+vulnerable genetics idea)... but I have never, EVER, heard of mania as being part of ADHD.

Hyperactivity or restlessness are not Mania. And akathesia is not a seizure. :)

NB
Thinking of John Ratey's book Shadow Syndromes, I could use a little [hypo]mania now and then.... ;)

If you don't mind me asking:

-What do others say about your work performance?
-What do you say is the problem with your work performance? (e.g. subjective experience)

You've realized what you need to do to improve your job performance, and they need to work with you to help make that happen.

I don't have a job. Not many people have said much really. I was on the phone and they were on the phone so they really coudln't pay attention.
My previous supervisors that did ACES on me - that means when they listen to your calls for quality assurance - have always said I did well and in fact they had to SEARCH hard for things to ding me on. I was so good at it.
I would say that there is nothing wrong with my work performance ( when I WAS emplyoyed ) I had been doing the same thing for a long time. A few bad habits that I may have developed over the years?) thats about it.

I just had a supservisor that didn't like me and got me fired.
