I've been med free for several years now. It hasn't been good. The year or so that stimulants worked for me was one of the best I've had. I just kept building tolerance. I tried Adderall, Ritalin, Dexedrine, etc. Strattera didn't work. I'm on Wellbutrin for depression, but doesn't help with ADD. Is there any hope of finding a new drug that will help?

What many call tolerances are really just the body becoming used to the changes caused by the medications. If you take any medication long enough you will no longer "feel" it but the chemical changes still take effect it is just that the body has adjusted or become accustom to the difference.

I haven't felt my ADD medications in years but they still work, The fact I am still talking about ADD medication is proof in itself . . .. heck the fact I am sitting down typing is indication enough. . .

That's definitely not the problem. I watched my productivity drop dramatically, couldn't read extended passages, etc.

When you see your doctor next report in as much detail as possible what symptoms of adhd you are still experiencing. After a time off, vacation from the stimulants, you might be able to take them again without the tolerance.
